  The Impact of Screen Time on Children's Mental Health In today’s digital age, children are spending more time on screens than ever before. While technology offers many benefits, excessive screen time can have negative effects on children’s mental health. As a child psychologist, I’ve observed the impact of screen time on children’s behavior, mood, and overall well-being. Negative Effects:   Excessive screen time can lead to various mental health issues: Sleep Problems:  Children who spend too much time on screens, especially before bedtime, often experience difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep. The blue light emitted by screens can disrupt the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Behavioral Issues:  Increased screen time can lead to behavioral problems such as irritability, aggression, and decreased attention span.
